Biden suffers "mild" fractures of his foot while playing with his dog: US 2020 elections
US President-elect Joe Biden suffered a slight fracture of the foot while he was playing with one of his dogs, Major.
According to the attending physician, Biden, 78, sprained his ankle on Saturday when he slipped his foot while playing Major, a German Shepherd.
To be extra careful, the next day Biden visited an orthopedic clinic in Newark, Delaware.
Biden's personal physician, Kevin O'Connor, said the initial X-ray examination did not indicate a "visible fracture", which required a more accurate CT scan.
According to O'Connor, subsequent examinations showed that two of the small bones in the middle of Biden's right foot sustained minor fractures.
The doctor expected that Biden would need to wear medical shoes "for several weeks" to be able to walk.
On Twitter on Sunday, President Donald Trump tweeted: "Wishes for a speedy recovery!"
