New York of Diversity

 New York of Diversity

If you've never been to New York City, you might be surprised to learn that there is so much more to this great city than just skyscrapers, lots of people, and really great parades. While it is indeed the wonderful people of this city that make it such an exciting place to visit as it has become, there is much more to this city than you will see on TV shows and in the news.

New York City is a city full of exciting people from all backgrounds with all kinds of hopes and dreams for the future and experiences from the past. You will find works of art here like few places in the world, you will see more nature here than in most major cities in the world, and you will enjoy seeing more cultures and nationalities represented in the space of an hour in this city than most people. . who live elsewhere experience in their whole life. New York City is the true melting pot of the world and the rest of America is just trying to catch up.

You will find music and art that are representative of the many cultures that call this great city home. You'll experience the sights, sounds, and scents of strange and exotic worlds simply by walking the neighborhood streets where people cook dinner at night. You'll hear more languages in a day than you've probably ever dreamed of imagining, and while you may be standing with sensory overload thinking that someone would be crazy for living like this, most of them are looking at you thinking that you'd be crazy for living elsewhere. . .

This is perhaps the best thing about visiting New York City. You have the opportunity to experience for a moment the excitement that comes from living in this fascinating city. You come to understand what it's like for those who live there. And you can understand first-hand what it's like to be alone in a city of millions and yet be there, be one of them, belong in some way to this giant community of strangers from different cultures, different pasts and different futures. .

Most people visit New York with certain preconceptions and objectives for their visits. Hopefully all your preconceptions will be challenged and the plans you've made will be flexible. There is so much to do and see that you could go one block each way from your hotel and probably notice something new every time. My point on this is that you need to allow time to experience the wonderful things that you will not discover in the guides. There is a part of this city that anyone could find to write about. I imagine there are New Yorkers who could eat at a different restaurant every day without eating at the same one twice in five or ten years. I find it hard to believe that a guide can contain everything you might find interesting in this city and if you spend your entire visit with your head in the book, you may miss out on something really worthwhile.

That being said, it is a good idea to plan around your budget and the things you want to see, I just urge you to make room in those hours for changes. The Statue of Liberty is cool, but it takes a while to get there and back. Could it be that you take some photos, buy some postcards and do another two or three activities that you could have enjoyed in the time it takes to get there and back? Plans are made to change whenever possible, especially during the holidays. I highly recommend that you set aside a minimum of two hours each day to do something you discovered rather than something you planned.
