New York nightlife and changing styles
Nightlife is a big part of New York culture, there is no reason if you are capable, willing and have no kids to keep you in the room at night that you are your date for your New City vacation York and you can't get out. and tour the city while watching some of the wonders of New York City nights.
The problem is, there is no one size fits all when it comes to nightclubs, bars and lounges. Each of these is well represented in almost any New York neighborhood and it really is up to the individual to find the bar or club that works best for them. The best recommendation I can give anyone is to go through the acts they headline and find one that you think will suit your style and tastes.
If you are in the mood to laugh, then a comedy club might be the best for you. If you are looking for a nice and quiet place where you and your partner can quietly chat and contemplate life and love, then a piano or jazz room may be the best option for you. Trying to suggest a bar in New York is almost as difficult as trying to recommend one on Bourbon Street, they are all somewhat alike and yet they are all very different. The trick is to find the one that suits you best.
karaoke bar
Now if you want to take a dip and have a good time, I will suggest a karaoke bar. What could be better than a song out of tune with the bad music of the eighties? Not much, but laughing at someone else for doing it is way better than getting up and doing it yourself. There is a lot of potential for fun and only you are the one who can decide if you would consider enjoying certain moments. We all have music that we prefer, crowds that we prefer, and most importantly, music and crowds that we prefer to avoid.
The good news is that within New York City there are bars that represent almost every musical taste in history, and then a few more. Chances are there is a bar somewhere that offers the kind of music you prefer or are in the mood for tonight. Some of these bars will have live bands or male / female shows and some will have DJs playing tunes until the last call or the sun. There is jazz, hip hop, the best and worst of the 80s, 90s, alternative, country, techno, pop, smooth jazz, R&B, Manilow and Streisand, the 70s, classic rock and many more. My head is spinning trying to think. of all of them. Somewhere in the mix there has to be something that works for you, or maybe silence or simple piano ballads are the way to go.
Whatever your music and your mood, there is a bar or club in New York that has something that will speak to you. And if you're in a particularly bad mood, they have clubs for that, too. Many of us use our vacation time to explore other aspects of our nature, whether you are interested in trying new music or a new audience; New York City is a great anonymous city in which to try new things. Just don't have so much fun that you decide to stay.
