Lara Flynn Boyle, the former girlfriend of Oscar-winning actor Jack Nicholson, has revealed that he has never officially retired from acting, contrary to popular belief. Boyle, who dated Nicholson over two decades ago and remains friends with him, told People magazine, "He’s a big part of my life."
Last Film Appearance
Nicholson, now 86, last appeared in a feature film in 2010, starring in the romantic comedy "How Do You Know" alongside Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, and Paul Rudd. Since then, he has turned down all offers to return to acting. Despite this, Nicholson has never formally announced his retirement, though he mentioned in a 2013 Vanity Fair interview that he wasn't motivated to appear in any films.
Preference for a Quiet Life
Last year, it was reported that Nicholson prefers "sitting under a tree and reading a book" over returning to acting, according to a friend of the legendary film star. Hollywood producer Lou Adler confirmed that Nicholson wanted to live a quiet life away from the spotlight.

Nicholson has won three Academy Awards for his roles in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest," "Terms of Endearment," and "As Good As It Gets." With a total of 12 Oscar nominations, he holds the record for the most nominations by an actor in the Academy's history.
