New species of dolphin discovered in the Commander Islands
Scientists of the Commander Islands National Park have discovered a new species of striped dolphin, following studies conducted on the remains of dolphins found at the mouth of the Saranaia River on Bering Island.
According to agencies, this discovery raised the total number of the Commander Islands whale list to 22 species.
According to the park's statement: "When workers in the scientific department of the National Park learned of this discovery, they studied the discovered remains and photographed them, and the first choice announced by the researchers was a striped dolphin."
