“International Energy” announces the volumes of countries’ contributions to pumping oil due to the Ukraine crisis
The International Energy Agency said on Friday that its member countries have finished setting the sizes of their contributions to what was announced this week of pumping 60 million barrels of oil to support prices that have been agitated after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Of the 61.7 million barrels to be pumped, the United States will provide 30 million barrels, followed by Japan with 7.5 million barrels, South Korea with 4.4 million barrels, and Germany with 3.2 million barrels.
"In the past few days following the decision, each IAEA member state has been examining how much it can contribute to the announced plan to deal with its own local conditions," the Paris-based agency said in a statement.
“The pledges made by the members have already exceeded the 60 million barrels, which indicates great solidarity.”
