Mark Zuckerberg reveals AI projects for Meta
The CEO of Meta, which owns Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, said today (Wednesday) that the company is working on an artificial intelligence research program.
According to Zuckerberg, he aims to create virtual worlds through voice commands, and allow humans to have more realistic conversations using voice assistance and translation between languages, in a step towards building a virtual metaverse world.
Cairokee..the successor of the internet
Zuckerberg is betting that metaverse, a futuristic concept for building virtual environments where users can work, socialize and play, will be the successor to the internet.
At a Meta event focused on artificial intelligence, which was streamed live on the Internet, Zuckerberg said the company's project, which he calls Cairokee, is a "comprehensive network model for building voice aids on devices."
Huge investment to build metaverses
The social media company, which recently lost a third of its market value after a bad earnings report, has invested heavily in its new campaign to build metaverses and changed its name to reflect that ambition.
Meta also recently announced that her research team has built a new artificial intelligence supercomputer that is believed to be the world's fastest when completed in mid-2022.
