Titled “Emmy, Beyond the Stage,” the exhibition explores the creativity and influence of the British soul singer, from “Queen of the Blues” Dina Washington to DJ Mark Ronson, through to the music of Pop during the 1960s, and the Motown Records and Jazz Company.

"What we sought in this exhibition was to tell her story as a creative personality, as a great musician, as a fashion icon, but we also made sure to include rare items her fans may have heard about but had not seen before today," deputy curator Maria McClintock told AFP. .

She explained that the exhibition includes, for example, the scripts of handwritten songs that have not previously been shown for unreleased albums, and her first guitar she bought when she was a teenager.

Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27 on July 23, 2011 from excessive alcohol consumption.

The British singer, who won a number of awards for her 2006 album "Back to Black", has been addressing her personal experience of alcohol and drug addiction in her jazz and soul songs. This addiction eventually affected her artistic performance, prompting photo hunters to chase after her for shots.

And Maria McClintock hoped "that people who visit this exhibition will see that she was very intelligent and a very refined musician."

And in an indication of the continued interest in the singer, the dress that the singer wore during her last concert in 2011 sold for 243,200 thousand dollars, 16 times more than its estimated value, during a recent auction in California, USA.
