On 4 September, the player was hit by one strong blow to the head from a 15-year-old boy, while walking in the street to his house after returning from celebrating his 26th birthday.
As a result of this attack, he suffered a brain hemorrhage and a fractured skull. Although he opened his eyes a few days ago, he is still in intensive care on a ventilator.
The British player enjoys great support from the residents of the Australian city of Perth, and a Scottish traditional band plays in front of the hospital where he is being treated.
