Britney Spears charged with misdemeanor battery
Police in Ventura County, California, have launched a felony battery investigation of Britney Spears after a female domestic worker reported that the pop singer hit her during an argument.
Capt. Eric Bucho, Ventura County Sheriff, said the incident occurred on Monday, as the worker called police in the wake of the incident and filed a report. Buchou declined to explain specifically how Spears came into physical contact with the worker, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Buchou added that the worker showed no visible signs of injury and the investigation would be sent to the county attorney general for a decision.
Representatives for Spears did not immediately respond to the newspaper's request for comment on the accusation.
