Killed and wounded in a shooting in California
Police sources said in San Jose, California, today, Wednesday, that they are dealing with a shooting incident in a downtown area, adding that the incident is still continuing.
The office of the Santa Clara County Police Commander said on the social networking site "Twitter" that "the attacker was captured," while other police sources reported the killing of the suspect.
The local station from the "NBC" network, citing unidentified sources, stated that the incident resulted in "a number of deaths", as well as a number of injured.
The shooting occurred near a local transportation authority point. The police indicated that employees of the transport company were "among the victims", without specifying the number.
The United States has seen a series of shootings in recent months, including at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis, at an office building in California, at a supermarket in Colorado, and at a number of massage parlors in Atlanta.
Last weekend, 12 people were shot dead and about 50 wounded across the country, in an escalation of armed violence that US President Joe Biden recently described as a "pandemic".
