Dubai receives 1.67 million international visitors within 4 months
The Emirate of Dubai received about 1.67 million international visitors in 4 months from January to the end of last April, according to official data issued by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai.
The data showed that the total hotel nights since the beginning of the year until the end of April amounted to 9.47 million nights, with a growth of 13.4%, compared with 8.35 million nights recorded by the hotel sector during the same period last year, and the average price of a hotel room reached 401 dirhams, while the average return on the room reached Hotel to 252 dirhams.
According to official data, the number of hotel rooms in the emirate has reached 128 thousand rooms of various categories, within 714 hotels and hotel apartments facilities, and 5-star hotels accounted for 35% of the total number of rooms with 44.20 thousand rooms within 133 hotels, and the number of hotels reached from The 4-star category has reached 164 hotels, comprising 36.18 thousand hotel rooms, while the number of star-rated 3-star hotels has reached 230 hotels, comprising about 23.44 thousand hotel rooms.
In terms of regions, data showed that South Asia accounted for (29%) of the total number of visitors to Dubai, then Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States 21%, while Western Europe accounted for about 17% of visitors, and the Middle East region accounted for about 17%. 11%, and Africa's share reached 9%, and the remaining percentages were distributed over the rest of the regions.
At the level of countries, India continued to lead in terms of the number of visitors coming to Dubai, which reached 390 thousand, and Russia ranked second with 144 thousand visitors, while the number of visitors from France reached 62 thousand, and from the United States to 54 thousand visitors.
Sources working in the tourism sector expected the sector to record record numbers in recent months, especially in light of the preparations to host Expo 2020 Dubai.
A member of the Arab Tourism Center, Muhammad Mustafa, said: “There are many factors that support the continued growth of the tourism sector, represented in the expansion of national carriers and the opening of many markets around the world,” indicating that the tourism sector in the UAE during the past months was mainly dependent on tourism.
