Dubai Airports praises Italy's decision to open the door for travel from the UAE without quarantine Dubai Airports praised the Italian government’s decision to abandon the 10-day quarantine requirement for all categories of travelers from the United Arab Emirates, on the condition that the travel protocol based on the result of a negative examination before travel be applied, as of next June.

All travelers who arrive on flights from the UAE to the Italian airports (Rome - Fiumicino - Milan - Malpensa Venezia - Marco Polo) can travel to Italy for all purposes.

Travel will require a negative test result for the "Covid-19" test, which is conducted within 48 hours of leaving their flight from the UAE, and all travelers over the age of two years will perform a rapid examination for "Covid-19" upon arrival in Italy.

Passengers with negative results will be able to travel around Italy without any restrictions, while travelers who have tested positive will be forced to undergo a period of isolation in a hotel approved in accordance with the prevailing "Covid-19" protocols.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports praised the Italian government's decision as a realistic and practical one, noting that this is an important step towards recovering from the global epidemic and will give travelers to Europe an opportunity to plan long-awaited trips to one of the most famous destinations in the world, and the decision enhances the confidence that he enjoys. It has both countries in their approach to cope with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Griffiths added that the epidemic has caused a lot of social and economic damage and destroyed millions of jobs in many industries over the past 14 months, and what the world desperately needs now is a safe return to mobility and communication to stimulate economic recovery based on prudent risk management rather than avoiding it.

The Emirati-Italian corridor is the latest in a series of travel corridor agreements signed by the UAE, including with Greece, Serbia, Seychelles and Bahrain, which allow residents who have been vaccinated to visit without quarantine requirements upon arrival.
