Audi offers a different concept for future charging stations
Audi believes that the success of electric vehicles is closely tied to improving the charging infrastructure significantly, and has developed an ambitious plan to deploy future charging stations which it describes as a concept of fast charging and high-level electric mobility.
Audi plans to set up express terminals that will include a luxurious upper-floor lounge, similar to those for first-class passengers at airports. To support its electric projects, which aim to launch more than 20 fully electric models by 2025, Carscoops reports.
The idea of future charging stations is based on the use of lithium-ion battery cells that have been decommissioned, and the formation of a hub that collects them, which eliminates the need for expensive bulky transformers or high-voltage lines, and the hub is expected to contain 2.45 megawatts of energy storage, which is easy to connect More than one stop.
If all goes according to plan, the company said, the first of those charging stations will open later this year. The company will monitor daily operations and collect customer feedback to determine whether additional hubs will be built. Audi also plans to allow third-party owners to use chargers and some parts of the terminal at least in the trial phase.
