British police have announced the arrest of a person who exploited his likeness to mixed martial arts hero, Conor McGregor, for drug trafficking.
Mark Ney was sentenced to two years and 9 months in prison for drug trafficking, taking advantage of the great resemblance he brings to the famous Irish fighter, Conor McGregor.
And according to the Spanish newspaper "Marca", Mark, who was carrying cards with McGregor's name, was arrested in Surrey, southeast England.
Police caught the lookalike MacGregor, 34, while he was driving without a license, identifying himself as a global fighter.
Police said the arrested showed them cards for a company named Conor McGregor, which he was using to defraud.
On Mark’s phone, police found messages related to the drug trade, as well as "boric acid" and a large cleaver in the trunk of his car.
From the photos that were circulated on social media, Mark appears in a hairstyle similar to that of MacGregor, and he made sure to also extend his beard to look more like an international star in mixed martial arts, according to Sky News.
