These tips will help you find an iPhone
Every smartphone has a unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number which can come in handy if your device is stolen or lost somewhere.
And if your phone is lost or stolen, you can blacklist your IMEI number so that others cannot use it
Even with a new SIM card, a phone that falls for its IMEI is blacklisted will not work. Fortunately, this number is very easy to figure out and can be written down somewhere safe to use when needed
Other than this one, there are a bunch of easy ways to track an iPhone, to make sure it is safe from the hands of intrusive thieves. From activating the alarm to help you locate your phone, to taking full advantage of the Find my Phone app, we've summarized some of the best methods for finding your Apple device when it's lost:
Find My app is an app from Apple that's integrated into all of its devices. It can be used to locate lost devices on a map, which is great for tracking lost or stolen phones
It is also possible to remotely wipe your iPhone, or any other device from Apple, to prevent thieves from obtaining your information or files.
If you lose your iPhone, open the Find My app on another Apple device that is signed in with your Apple ID
- If you do not have a secondary device, you can access the feature at iCloud.com/find (you will need to log in with your Apple ID)
A map will appear showing the location of all your Apple gadgets
- Click on "All Devices" at the top of the page and select the tool you are looking for to view its location
