The conclusion of the online chess championship for universities
The Universities Chess Championship that was held this month under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of the Egyptian Sports Federation of Universities, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, through the online system, with the participation of 123 male and 64 female students representing 25 Egyptian universities.
For his part, Dr. Subhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Universities Sports Federation, confirmed that the results of the female students ’individual competitions resulted in Shahanda Nagy from Mansoura University winning first place, Mary Wajih Moussa from Assiut University in second place, and Rabab Jamal El Din Al-Tirawi from Alexandria University in third place, noting that Alexandria University ranked first at the university level for female students with 18.5 points, and Assiut University came in second place with 18 points, equally with Mansoura University, which got the third place.
Subhi added that student Adham Fawzi won first place in the individual student competitions, Mustafa Hashem second place, and Muhammad Fouad third, and these students from Alexandria University, while Alexandria University won first place at the university level for students with 23 points, 4 points difference from Helwan University. Which ranked second, then Cairo University came in third place with 18 points.
It is mentioned that the tournament was held under the supervision of Dr. Subhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Universities Sports Federation, Dr. Hisham El Gendy, President of the Egyptian Chess Federation, and Dr. Hisham El Guoshi, Secretary General of the Universities Union, Bahaa Mukhtar, Head of the Championship and Competition Sector in the Federation, Osama Khair El Din, Information Technology Officer at the Federation, and Dr. Omar El-Tahan, the tournament supervisor, and this tournament is the first university tournament to be approved by the Egyptian Chess Federation.
