Prince Harry and Megan, Duchess of Sussex, leave the royal family for good
Buckingham Palace announced today, Friday, that Prince Harry and his wife Megan finally and finally separated from the British royal family, as they informed Queen Elizabeth that they will no longer be working members of the family.
Harry and Meghan caused a state of shock in the royal family in January 2020, after they suddenly announced their separation from the family and their pursuit of a new future in the United States.
The separation is now official after discussions with Queen Elizabeth. Accordingly, the Queen will recover all the honorary military titles that the spouses obtained, as well as the organizations that were under their care in their royal capacity, and would redistribute them to other members of the royal family.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex assured the Queen that they will no longer be working members of the royal family," the palace said.
"Although everyone feels sorry for their decision, the Duke and Duchess are still very much loved members of the family," he added.
The palace said, "The Queen wrote, confirming that abandoning the business of the royal family means that it will not be possible to carry out the responsibilities and duties associated with the life of public service," according to Al-Arabiya.
