Trump complies with Twitter ... the president deletes the necessary tweets to restore his account
Twitter confirmed that the outgoing US President Donald Trump deleted the tweets that prompted him to disable his account.
A Twitter spokesman told CNN that President Trump had removed the three tweets from his profile that led to the temporary closure of his account.
The move paves the way for Trump to regain control of his account on the popular tweet site.
Twitter's official confirmation comes after Trump began to comply on Wednesday night with the site's request to delete the tweets or face an ongoing shutdown.
The company, Twitter, confirmed that it has significantly restricted interaction with tweets classified within the civil integrity policy of "Twitter" due to the risks of violence, indicating that it will not be possible to respond to these classified tweets, re-tweet or like them.
And she continued in a statement today, Thursday: "This means that the US President’s account will be closed for 12 hours after removing these tweets .. If the tweets are not removed, the account will remain closed."
Trump released a video clip in which he appealed to his supporters after their storming of the Congress headquarters to "go home" but repeated his claim that the elections were "stolen" from him.
Facebook and YouTube deleted this video.
