The White House Abandons Trump ... The order for the orderly transfer of power was released on Twitter
A White House official revealed that US President Donald Trump's statement, in which he acknowledged an "orderly transfer" of power, was issued through his Twitter account by his assistant Dan Scavino, without the press office's knowledge.
According to a report published by CNN, that nearly six hours after Scavino posted the statement on Twitter, the White House had not officially released the statement, and it was only published so far on Scavino's personal Twitter account.
The report added that press officials at the White House woke up Thursday morning to learn more about the statement via the news like everyone else, according to the official.
It was not clear whether the White House would release the statement through official channels.
Earlier Thursday, the US President published a statement, the first after the US Congress approved the victory of his Democratic rival, the electoral college votes, to become the next president of the United States of America.
Trump said in a statement posted on his Facebook page: "Although I completely disagree with the election result, and the facts are apparent to me, nevertheless there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20."
And the US Congress approved Joe Biden's victory by more than 270 votes in the electoral college, which is the limit required for a candidate to win the US presidential race.
The electoral college results validation process ended, with Biden leading 306 votes over Trump, who received 232 votes.
