The second after Pfizer ... Europe certifies the use of Moderna vaccine
Today, Wednesday, the European Medicines Authority approved the use of the American Moderna vaccine against the Coronavirus "Covid-19".
According to the Associated Press, the authority gave the green light to the Moderna vaccine, which is the second approved by the agency for use in the battle to contain the Corona virus, after the Pfizer vaccine.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, welcomed the approval, confirming in a tweet on her account on the "Twitter" website that the authority is now working at full speed to make it available in the European Union.
The approval to use the Moderna vaccine comes amid the soaring increase in coronavirus infections on the European continent.
And the US Food and Drug Administration had given the green light to distribute the Corona vaccine issued by Moderna.
The moderna vaccine has proven effective in preventing infection with the Coronavirus in total by nearly 95%, just like the Pfizer vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine is given in two doses (100 micrograms) with a 28-day interval. The Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses (30 micrograms) with a 21-day interval.
