Engineer Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, revealed the details of the construction of the express electric train, which will be implemented by the German company Siemens.

The minister continued, during a telephone interview with the story program and broadcast on MBC Egypt,: “The train is not from Ain Sokhna to El Alamein only, and we are working on a train network of 1700 km long.


He explained that the network consists of four lines, the first line from Ain Sokhna to Al-Alamein, then its extension from Al-Alamein to Marsa Matrouh.


He pointed out that the third line will be from Hurghada, Safaga, Qena and Luxor, and it is a train that will serve tourism, import and export through the transport of goods.


As for the fourth line, the Minister of Transport confirmed that it would be from the sixth of October to Luxor and Aswan and would run west of the Nile to be parallel to the regular railway.


The Minister of Transport indicated that the first stage of the train will be spent on 8 billion dollars and not 23 billion as was reported.
