Shahira Khalil has more than 25 years of experience in the field of child journalism, as she worked for many years in the two most important children's magazines in Egypt and the Arab world, Mickey and Samir magazines published by Dar Al-Hilal, and for her fluency in French and English languages ​​beside the Arabic language that she specialized in her studies, She was a pioneer in translating the comics for Mickey Magazine for more than 30 years and held the highest administrative positions with them, where she held the position of managing editor of Mickey Pocket Monthly Magazine (1994-2002), and she is the editor-in-chief of Samir magazine since 2002 until now.

Shahira Khalil graduated from the American University in Cairo, Department of Arabic Literature and Arabic Language with honors in 1986, and obtained her MA from the same university in 1995; She obtained a PhD in child journalism from Barrington University, USA, in 2001, by virtue of a scholarship offered to distinguished Egyptian journalists. She was a professor of children's journalism at the October University of Science and Arts. She is also a member of the Watch Committee at the Cairo International Children's Film Festival since its inception until now, and she was a member of the jury in 2002 and 2012.

She has received many local and international honors for her efforts and contributions in the field of child culture and journalism. Among them: Honoring the Walt Disney Foundation, France; Egyptian Journalists Syndicate; The National Center for Child Culture; Cultural Development Fund; The Ministry of Education of the Sultanate of Oman; And others

She has also authored and translated many books for children, including the Intelligent Adventures series; Magic Bus Series; Drawing and coloring series; Me and the robot in the cinema; Diary of an Egyptian Child Series Naughty colors; Police gas; How to become president of the republic; St. George and the Dragon and others.
