Saudi Arabia approves granting nationality to any child of "unknown parentage" born inside the Kingdom
Today, Wednesday, the Saudi Human Rights Commission affirmed that a child born in the Kingdom to unknown parents has the right to obtain Saudi nationality. This is in accordance with the rights of the child in national systems.
The commission said, through its official account on the “Twitter” website: “It is the right of a child born in the Kingdom to unknown parents to obtain Saudi nationality,” and published an infographic entitled (Rights of the Child in National Systems) that stated:
* A Saudi person born inside the Kingdom of unknown parents (the Saudi Arabian Nationality System).
* The state provides integrated health care (health system).
* It is not held criminally liable for those who did not reach the age of seven at the time the act was committed (Juvenile Law)
* The penalties are increased if the crime is committed against a child, even if the perpetrator is not aware that the victim is a child (Anti-trafficking Crime Law).
* Any male or female whose father has passed away and is under the age of eighteen will benefit from the pension, and he does not have a capable breadwinner or an adequate source of subsistence (work system).
* It is not permissible to employ any person who has not completed fifteen years of age, and is not permitted to enter the workplace (the social security system).
* Whoever commits an act that constitutes an offense as an act of abuse, shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding a year, and a fine not exceeding fifty thousand riyals, or one of the two penalties (the protection from harm system).
* It is considered harm or neglect of a child, causing him to drop out of education (child protection system).
