Muhyiddin Yassin, Malaysian Prime Minister: Coronavirus has accelerated the growth of the digital economy
Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin confirmed that the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19) that has infected the world since early last year has accelerated the growth of the Malaysian digital economy.
During his keynote speech during the first ASEAN Digital Ministers' meeting and related meetings, the Malaysian Prime Minister said, via the virtual session in Kuala Lumpur, today, Thursday, that the Malaysian government has identified the digital economy to be one of the main areas in achieving its national commitments, by promoting the country as a nation. Sustainable growth while ensuring fair and equitable distribution across groups, ethnicities and regions' income.
"We will continue to support the mutual prosperity of all, with a focus on deepening the skill of the people through digital skill, enabling digitally generated businesses and promoting digital investment," the Prime Minister added, according to the Malaysian agency Bernma.
