Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi: India launches digital platform for COVID-19 vaccine campaign
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to launch a nationwide vaccine campaign against the new Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The campaign will be the largest vaccination program in the world, covering the entire length and breadth of the country.
A total of 3,006 session locations across India will be physically connected during launch. About 100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated at each session site on the day of the opening.
This vaccination program is based on principles of priority groups for vaccination, and both government and private healthcare workers will receive the vaccine during this phase. The program will use Co-WIN, a digital online platform developed by the Federation's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which will facilitate real-time information on vaccine stocks.
It will also facilitate storage temperature and individual tracking of COVID-19 vaccine recipients. This digital platform will assist program managers at all levels while conducting immunization sessions.
A dedicated 24-hour call center has also been set up to address inquiries regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine launch, and Co-WIN program. Adequate doses of both COVISHIELD and COVAXIN have already been delivered across the country with the active support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Delivered by state / UT governments to counties.
