FBI shocks everyone over Trump's involvement in the Capitol storming
A senior FBI official said the office could not link an individual suspect to the threat of violent "war" at the Capitol the day before the deadly siege last week.
The newspaper "Washington Post" America today, that the FBI has informed law enforcement authorities about the threat, but did not act urgently enough to prevent the violence in the Capitol building.
The newspaper reported that the office of "FBI" in Norfolk, Virginia, issued a "explicit internal warning" that extremists were preparing to travel to Washington to commit acts of violence and "war."
But Stephen De Antono, the head of the FBI in Washington, said the threat was vague and could not be linked to a specific person or group.
"This has been read on the message board. This cannot be attributed to any specific person. We are dealing with details and facts," he added.
However, Dantuno said, the Washington field office shared details of the threat, including with several joint counterterrorism task forces, within 40 minutes of becoming aware of it.
