Erdogan addresses Biden a request through the media after refusing to respond to his calls

Today, Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the United States of America for removing his country from the project to manufacture American F-35 fighters, after Turkey bought the "S-400" missile system from Russia.

After Friday prayers in Istanbul, Erdogan said that Turkey had paid a lot of money in the project to manufacture the F-35 fighters, adding: "This is a serious mistake made by America, which is an ally in our right."

He added, "I hope that with Mr. Biden taking office and holding discussions, he will take more positive steps so that we can correct that."

Despite this, Erdogan remained adamant about Turkey's right to own the S-400 system, saying that there was an ongoing dialogue with Russia over the purchase of a new batch of Russian missile systems.

And the British "Middle East Eye" website, citing 3 informed sources, stated that Biden had not yet responded to Erdogan's request for a phone call a week before he entered the White House.

Erdogan's government suggested to the Biden team last month to organize a phone call between the two presidents, but nothing was prepared.

According to the British "Middle East Eye" website, Biden, who is one of the most critical of Erdogan, was late in responding to the latter's request, indicating that the US President does not intend to open a new page with the Turkish president.
