Canada is concerned about Biden's new program
Canada has expressed concern about US President Joe Biden's plans for the "Buy America" program.
The new program aims to ensure that local companies benefit from federal spending.
Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said the free trade issue would be high on Ottawa's agenda during her discussions with the Biden administration.
Noting that the two countries have highly integrated economies.
Canadian Foreign Minister Mark Garneau said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau conveyed the country's concerns about the Buy American program to Biden.
And that was during a phone call on Friday that gathered North American leaders.
The "Wall Street Journal" reported that Biden, will sign an executive order forcing the government to buy products made in the United States.
