Andreas Mendt Bentley announces the joining of the Head of Audi Design
Bentley, the giant of the British luxury car industry, announced that Stefan Sellaf, the head of design in the company, will leave Bentley and the entire Volkswagen Group to work as head of design in the Chinese company Geely, succeeding engineer Peter Horbury in Geely.
Engineer Stefan Silaf is 59 years old and has spent most of his career with the Volkswagen Group. He joined Audi in 1990 as an interior designer, and his departure left a gap in the Volkswagen Group. In addition to his job at Bentley, Silaf was also responsible for interior design strategies. For Volkswagen.
Stefan Sellaf has taken over the position of Head of Design at Bentley since 2015, and has moved out of his position as Head of the Potsdam Design Center of Volkswagen Group in Germany, succeeding Luke Dunkerolk, who is now the Creative Director of Hyundai Motors of Korea.
Only a week went by and Bentley announced that Andreas Mendt, the former head of Audi design, has extensive experience in the automotive industry, especially within the Volkswagen Group, with his work in the design department of the Volkswagen brand itself for 15 years before joining Audi.
Andreas Mendt has designed the Q8 and E-Tron models among several other major models, and Mendt has expressed his excitement to pass on his expertise to Bentley as the brand prepares to enter the electric age over the next ten years.
