The 45-year-old actress and director launched the #Me_to campaign, announcing in 2017 that she was raped by American Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein in 1997, when she was twenty-one.
In her interview with the Italian newspaper Friday, the actress explained about a sexual assault on the part of Rob Cohen in 2002. “It was the first time that I spoke about Cohen. He raped me after he made me drink GHB and had a bottle of it, ”referring to a drug used by rapists.
“At the time, I didn't really know what the matter was,” she continued. I woke up in the morning naked in his bed, ”explaining that he had assaulted him while she was participating in the movie“ XX X ”directed by him, with actors Vin Diesel and Samuel L Jackson.
In the same context, Agence France-Presse received a statement by Rob Cohen's spokesman denying the accusations, on Friday, confirming his categorical denial, "the completely false accusation of sexual assault directed against him by Lazia Argento."
He continued, "When they worked together, they had a wonderful working relationship, and Mr. Cohen considered her a friend, so this accusation dating back to 2002 is surprising, especially in light of what was said about her in recent years."
In 2018, Argento accused the American actor, Jimmy Bennett, of sexually assaulting her before because of his actions with her in a hotel in California when he was seventeen. After initially denying any sexual relationship with the young man, she returned and backed down, but nevertheless denied Jimmy Bennett's account of the incident.
In response to press reports claiming that she paid the young American actor $ 380,000, Asia Argento explained that her companion at the time, the famous chef Anthony Bourdain, offered her the money "in order to fulfill Bennett's request for his economic assistance."
It is worth mentioning that the Italian actress mentioned her new accusations in a book, "Anatomy of a Wild Heart", to be published on January 26 in Italy.
