A TikTok vulnerability that reveals users' photos and personal data
Researchers in the field of cybersecurity at Check Point revealed that they had found a vulnerability in the TikTok short video application, where the flaw led to displaying users' personal data, including sensitive data; Which would lead to disaster for millions of users if this data were used.
According to the CNET technical site, the security vulnerability that was discovered in Tik Tok has exposed a database that includes large numbers of users, as it includes phone numbers and personal file settings, as this data can be used and sold on the Internet or send malicious links to users to penetrate Their other data.
The flaw also included revealing of users' personal photos, aliases, profiles, avatars, and unique user IDs.
A spokesman for Check Point said that the vulnerability in TikTok could be exploited, exposing sensitive user data, and taking actions that harm users.
A TikTok spokesman said in a statement that the application continues to enhance the protection of users through the continuous updating of internal capabilities, such as investing in the provision of programs to protect users, and a partnership with other parties to preserve user data.
