He explained that the decision applies to (loaded / empty) tankers to which the category of "chemical tankers" fees applies and operating between the American Gulf (starting with the port of Miami and the ports on its west within the American Gulf, as well as the ports located in the south of the American Gulf and the following regions in India and its east Two-way reduction ratios.
According to the new decision, West Indian ports up to Kochi Port are granted a 30% reduction in normal transit fees, and ports located east of Kochi Port in western India even before Singapore are granted a reduction of 55% of normal transit fees, and Singapore ports etc. East of the country, a reduction of 75% of the normal transit fees.
Carriers (loaded / empty) to which the category of "chemical tanker" charges apply, operating between the American East Coast (all ports on the east coast of North America located north of the Port of Miami) and the ports of Singapore and its east in both directions, are granted a reduction of 45% of the normal transit fees. .
Regarding the conditions for obtaining the transit fee reductions, a member of the Board of Directors of the Suez Canal Authority said: “The operating company that wants to benefit from the publication submits a request through the shipping agency before sailing from the port of destination specifying the ship’s data, the port of origin, the date of departure from it, the port of arrival and the expected arrival time. The vessel is for the channel, the condition of the vessel (loaded / empty) and the type and quantity of the cargo. "
He pointed out that the ship does not stop at any port between the ports of arrival and arrival for commercial purposes, and in the event of stopping at any port between two ports for non-commercial purposes, the Authority shall be provided with a certificate of the reasons for stopping by the authorities of the port of stopping or the competent authorities.
The full payment of the ship's transit fees is required upon transit, provided that the reduction is settled after completing all the required documents within a calendar year starting from the day following the date of transit, with sending all the reduction documents for the voyage subject of the reduction in one payment.
He explained that the documents required to settle the value of the reduction are a "resurrection certificate" from the last port of origin, stating the date of arrival, the quantity and type of the shipment when sailing, approved by the port authority or the competent authorities, and a "arrival certificate" from the first port of arrival stating the date of arrival, quantity and type of shipment Upon arrival approved by the port authority or the competent authorities, in addition to a request from the operators to refund the value of the reduction, indicating in it the number of the publication for the reduction, the ship’s data, the port of origin and the date of sailing from it, the port of arrival and the date of arrival, the date of crossing the Suez Canal, and the percentage of reduction to be returned, The name of the agency for the transit of the ship to the Suez Canal, to which the value of the reduction must be refunded, while acknowledging that there will be no stopover between the port of residence and the port of arrival for any commercial purpose.
The value of the reduction granted to the ship shall be canceled in the event that the documents are not completed within the specified period, or the ship stops in any port between the ports of origin and arrival for any commercial purpose, or if any of the previous conditions are violated.
