The World Bank allocates $ 12 billion to purchase and distribute corona vaccines

The World Bank announced the allocation of $ 12 billion to purchase vaccines, anti-virus drugs and detection tests, and to distribute them to 112 countries.

"The World Bank is running programs to deal with health emergencies in 112 countries," World Bank President David Malpass said during a meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 countries.

He continued: “We will use the urgent mechanism to monitor $ 12 billion to purchase and distribute vaccines,” adding that work is underway to invest an additional 4 billion dollars in the production and distribution of vaccines against Corona.

It is noteworthy that this is part of the financial package that the World Bank decided to allocate to address the effects of the epidemic until June 30, 2021, with a total volume of $ 160 billion.
