Prince Charles Launches New Sustainable Fashion Collection For Men And Women In Collaboration With Yoox Net-a-Porter .. Photos

Prince Charles launched a new sustainable fashion line in association with Yoox Net-a-Porter, an Italian online fashion retailer created on October 5, 2015, following the merger between Yoox Group and the Net-a-porter Group. Yoox was originally founded by Federico Marchetti in Milan in 2000, and Net-a-Porter was founded by Natalie Massenet in London in 2000.


According to "buro247", the Prince Charles Foundation's Artisan Training Program is launching a mixed collection of costumes that transcend cultural craftsmanship. Last year, the Prince launched a sustainable fashion collection in cooperation with London Fashion Week, revealing the latest modern collaboration of His Royal Highness.

And now, the Prince of Wales has indulged in yet another exciting fashion project through his Institution's Artisan Training Program, and the Prince's Foundation and the Yoox Net-a-Porter Group have launched a luxurious range of ready-to-wear women's and men's clothing.

Comprising of 18 sustainable pieces (10 for women, 8 for men), that set is a result of The Modern Artisan project - a long-standing collaboration with Yoox Net-a-Porter and The Prince's Foundation aimed at enhancing textile skills and industry trainees in the UK and Italy.

Celebrating the rich heritage and future of the British and Italian textile industry, students from both countries will be able to showcase their work to 4.3 million customers, as the group will be available on all YOOX Group platforms.

Sustainability is at the heart of the collection as it includes a few blouses made of 100% organic Italian silk traceable; A double-sided coat in a blend of merino and cashmere, which comes with a self-tie strap.


"It has long inspired me to unite seemingly conflicting worlds as the modern artisan project is harnessing big data and artificial intelligence to transform an ancient handicraft profession into a contemporary one," explains Federico Marchetti, Chairman and CEO of YOOX NET-A-PORTER.

The Modern Artisan project will be exhibited at Homo Faber, a cultural exhibition that celebrates the best of European and Japanese craftsmanship, and highlights the living treasures of Europe and Japan, through 16 galleries displaying master craftsmen and exceptional objects sponsored by a global team of leaders in the fields of design, architecture and organization It can be described as an international cultural event celebrating human skills in Europe and Japan and linking contemporary, traditional and rare craftsmanship with the world of design. It is affiliated with the Michelangelo Foundation in 2021.
