"Jeopardy" presenter Alex Trebeek dies
Alex Trebek, host of the popular quiz show "Jeopardy", passed away at the age of 80.
The death of Trebek was announced through the official account of his program on "Twitter", where the tweet read: "Trebek left peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends."
Trebek mourned a number of his friends and loved ones, describing him as "a source of information and absolute joy."
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and others were quick to offer condolences on Trebek's death.
And Trudeau posted a tweet on Twitter, in which he said: "We lost an icon."
The famous TV presenter was born in Canada and in March 2019 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at a late stage.
