A study reveals the dangers of drinking coffee and tea from paper cups ... The numbers are shocking

A recent study warned against consuming coffee and tea with made paper cups. When it exposes its users to the risk of ingesting thousands of microplastics.

The researchers found, in a study conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. That the pollution that occurs inside these cups is caused by the inner lining of the cup, which makes it waterproof. It also makes it difficult to recycle.

The researchers poured hot water into 100ml paper cups and left them for 15 minutes. The researchers found an average of 25,000 microplastics per cup.

Minerals such as zinc, lead and chromium have also been found in the water. The researchers suggested that these materials came from the same plastic liner. According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".

On his part, the researcher, Dr. Sudha Joel, said: “The average person drinks three regular cups of tea or coffee per day in a paper cup. He'll end up eating 75,000 tiny particles of tiny plastic that aren't visible to the naked eye.

“Microplastics act as a carrier for pollutants such as ions and toxic heavy metals such as palladium and chromium,” he added. When taken regularly over time, the health effects can be serious.
