Brazilian singer Gal Costa dies after nose surgery
The operation to remove a tumor from the nose caused the death of the famous Brazilian singer Gal Costa, at the age of 77.
The media attaché mourned Costa's death, saying: "With regret, we confirm the news of Costa's death."
The news of her death caused a wave of grief in Brazil, and some of the most important names in the musical field published eulogy for her.
And the Brazilian President, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, mourned her death, saying: "Gal Costa was one of the most important singers in the world, and one of the main artists who carried the name and voice of Brazil in the whole world... Our country is losing one of its greatest voices."
