Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urges EU to tighten sanctions on Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Europe on Friday to move more quickly and forcefully to impose sanctions on Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine, accusing Western allies of resorting to political maneuvering as Russian forces advance toward Kiev.
“Europe has enough strength to stop this aggression,” Zelensky said, adding that everything should be on the table, from preventing Russians from entering the European Union, to isolating Moscow from the SWIFT system of interbank payments, to an oil embargo.
"You can still stop this aggression," he said. You have to move quickly.”
