The president stressed the need to rely on the capabilities of the Suez Canal Authority for implementation. And not to resort to outside companies, except in the narrowest scope.


The development plan approved by the President includes the construction of a double canal in the Lakes region from the 122 km to 132 km numbering the Suez Canal, as well as the expansion of the Suez Canal from the 132 km to the 162 km expansion of 40 meters to the east, and a deepening of 166 feet to 72 feet, thus creating two new channels of 10 km to improve Navigation for the Suez Canal to increase the capacity of the Suez Canal so that 6 ships pass through the canal with 3 ships in each canal. This is to improve ship passage, prevent the influence of winds and waves and prevent shipping currents in order not to affect the stern of ships, and increase the number of ships crossing the Suez Canal.
