Lebanese doctors began a warning strike, to protest against a ruling issued in Beirut in the file of the 7-year-old girl Ella Tannous, whose four limbs were amputated due to a medical error in 2015

The ruling obligated the American University Hospital in Beirut and the Our Lady of Aid Hospital in Jbeil, and the two doctors, Issam Maalouf and Rana Sharara, to pay in solidarity and solidarity to the child Tanous an amount of 9 billion Lebanese pounds in lieu of holidays and damage, in addition to a lifetime monthly income estimated at four times the minimum wage in Lebanon.

The ruling also stipulated that the convicts must pay in solidarity and solidarity an amount of 500 million pounds to the father of the girl and 500 million pounds to her mother in exchange for damage and damage.

The head of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate confirms that the amputation of the child's organs was not the result of a medical error, but the result of a rare bacterial infection that affected 90% of her body, leading to death or amputation, and the case was very late when it was diagnosed 5 years ago, and the doctors tried all their efforts to save the child

"There is no doubt that the doctors made a tremendous effort to save her life, and what is sad is that despite what they did, they were summoned to the courts and accused of corruption and criminality, and this is unacceptable," the Doctors Syndicate added.

As for the father of the child Hassan Tannous, he said: “There is nothing that can compensate for the loss of my daughter’s limbs, and I hope that God will compensate her with a decent life.” Harm the doctors, even if they made a mistake

He said that the crisis began from the first moments that the child Ella was diagnosed with just a cold and sent home despite her condition worsening, and the failure to diagnose her in several hospitals in the country until her condition deteriorated and reached amputation.

The verdict comes 5 years after the incident
