The center explained that consuming energy drinks may lead to sleep disorders, nervousness, headaches, decreased ability to concentrate and obesity, due to their high content of caffeine and sugar.
The center added that in general, a child should not consume caffeine at a rate of more than 3 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day, meaning that a child who weighs 40 kilograms should not consume caffeine in an amount that exceeds 120 milligrams per day.
