Pentagon: We support Saudi Arabia's right to defend its borders
A spokesman for the US Department of Defense, "the Pentagon," said that they "are committed to assisting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf partners in defending their borders in light of the threats from Yemen."
General John Kirby, spokesman for the Pentagon, confirmed that the decision to stop support for operations in Yemen will not affect efforts to fight Al Qaeda, ISIS in Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula.
He added, during a press conference: "No decision has been taken until this moment regarding the American presence in Afghanistan ... and we are reviewing all agreements."
Kirby pointed out that Saudi Arabia is still a partner in fighting terrorism in the region, noting that Washington's support for military operations in Yemen was "limited" and limited to non-combat means, and it has been stopped.
The US official indicated that Saudi Arabia has the right to defend itself.
