This comes within the framework of the medical insurance plan for the World Handball Championship, which Egypt will host from January 13 to 31, in order to pay attention to the public health of Egypt's distinguished guests, and to tighten preventive, precautionary and medical measures in conjunction with the state's efforts to tackle the Corona virus Newcomer, in coordination between the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the International Handball Federation.
The official spokesperson for the medical committee for the World Handball Championship stated that medical services were provided to 58 of the participants in the tournament and members of the organizing committees, through 8 medical convoys stationed in the vicinity of the sports stadiums, and medical service was provided to 80 of the tournament participants and workers. In the residence hotels, through 5 clinics located inside the hotels, where all the necessary medicines were dispensed to them, which varied between (pressure, sugar) and emergency medicines, analgesics and various other medicines.
The official spokesperson for the medical committee for the World Handball Championship indicated that 2,249 “pcr” analyzes of the emerging corona virus were performed during the past 24 hours for all teams participating in the tournament, members of federations and organizing committees, hotel workers and medical teams, in order to ensure their health.
He stressed that the medical committee at the Ministry of Health, which supervises the medical insurance plan for the World Handball Championship, headed by Dr. Alaa Eid, is following up around the clock the implementation of the tournament's medical insurance plan, and is working to meet any medical or logistical needs and provide them immediately, in order to provide the best medical service To the distinguished guests of Egypt participating in the tournament.
Mujahid stated that the health educated teams in the Ministry of Health and Population are providing the necessary awareness of preventive and precautionary measures for the emerging corona virus to all participants in the tournament through the medical kiosks located inside the sports stadiums and in front of the games halls.
