The Ministry of Health and Community Protection won the first place in the innovation category for the early hearing screening project for newborns, which relies on the latest global electronic technologies in early hearing detection devices and the development of the smart electronic unit in the electronic health file “Warid”. The Ministry's robotic pharmacy project has also reached the final list of the best innovative projects. The Ministry won the first place in the category of achievements in health care for the electronic stroke unit project, which aims to standardize the clinical practices of stroke patients in accordance with international standards, thus contributing to reducing the time of receiving treatment and the rate of morbidity and mortality.

His Excellency Dr. Yusuf Muhammad Al Serkal, Director General of the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, stressed the importance of winning the award in a global forum among the elite of international health care institutions, which strengthens the country's position on the international health map, and reflects the competitive capabilities that characterize the health sector in order to achieve the Ministry's strategy to provide comprehensive health care And integrated in innovative and sustainable ways and developing health information systems according to international standards, in order to consolidate the advanced position that the country occupies in the field of health care technology, with the aim of reaching the ranks of the most innovative countries in the world, indicating that the Ministry is continuing to enhance the competitive capabilities of the health care sector in the country and achieve Sustainability in health services, through the development of medical policies, procedures, protocols and international best practices.

He noted his happiness that Ibrahim Obaidullah Hospital received the Diamond Award from the International Stroke Federation, the first hospital in the UAE and the Gulf region to receive this global award, as an indicator of the efficiency of the country's health system and the results of its long investment in the digital health infrastructure, and attracting medical innovations to improve health care methods.


Enhancing healthcare technology

In turn, Dr. Kalthoum Al-Balooshi indicated that the Ministry of Health and Prevention's winning of the two awards at the HIMSS conference is an appreciation and global recognition of the efficiency of the Ministry's projects in health care technology and the distinguished management of hospitals in the field of automating clinical processes and following the best digital health standards. Pointing out that the early hearing screening project for newborns depends on the introduction of innovative technology and smart application and is implemented in all Ministry hospitals that provide services for women and childbirth, after being linked with the health care technology system "Warid", where early intervention contributes to the access of newborns to appropriate health care, which improves Their opportunity to develop their language, speech style and communication skills.


The program also aims to create an electronic database to follow up cases of hearing impairment.
