Chad Wolf resigns, Acting US Secretary of Homeland Security
Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Chad Wolf, decided to resign from his post due to events in the US Congress last Wednesday.
The White House decided to withdraw the nomination of Chad Wolf for the position of US Secretary of Homeland Security, after urging outgoing US President Donald Trump to condemn violence in Congress.
"It is unreasonable and I ask the president and all elected officials to condemn the violence in the strongest way," Wolf said in a statement.
The decision to withdraw his candidacy is a very symbolic plan, as he is scheduled to leave office on January 20, as soon as Biden becomes president of the United States of America.
The Senate is unlikely to take any action on the nomination.
